Duathlon mission

Four Donegal men from the Letterkenny 24/7 triathlon club will travel to Scotland next week to represent Ireland in the Duathlon World Championships which take place from September 3rd – 5th.
Paul McIntyre, Gavin Crawford, Michael Black and Adrian Callaghan are part of the 50 strong Irish team competing in Edinburgh.
They were selected in their respective age groups from a number of qualifying races throughout the season.
Four races were selected in the busy racing calendar and each athlete had to finish in the top four places in each race to order to gain an automatic place in the team. Qualification for the race had to be done in the first quarter of the year and so there has been a lot of hard training to get to this stage.
On the day of the event they must complete a 10km run, a 40km cycle and finish it off with a 5km run, competing against some of the best multi-sport athletes in the world.
