Final journey

It was bitterly cold and damp, but the numbness that people felt was not from the elements. The vast attendance at the funeral of 28-year-old Elaine Brady in Kilmacrennan on Wednesday was in a sense of shock.
There was a massive outpouring of sympathy combined with a sense of disbelief as the community rallied around the Brady family.
She had gone out last Saturday night – but died after the car in which she was a passenger crashed less that a minute away from her home in the village.
People awoke on Sunday to hear the grim news that she had been killed.
Now her seven-year-old son, Jack, is without a mother, a hugely popular figure who will be sadly missed.
Parich priest Fr. Michael McKeever described her as “a beautiful person.”
She was the fifth person to lose their life on Donegal’s roads this year.
The driver of the car, Matthew Gallagher, was injured in the accident.
Once again a Donegal community has been left reeling, with family and friends struggling to come to terms with the tragic loss of yet another young person.
