Gardai are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out in a house in Dunmore, in Carrigans, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The fire service was called out at 2.45am to attend the blaze, which left the house badly damaged. It is understood that there was no-one in the building at the time and that no-one was injured as a result of the fire.
It is understood that one avenue of investigation is whether the fire was started deliberately. A Garda spokesperson confirmed that the investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
