One man remains in a serious condition following this morning’s three vehicle collision at Tullygay, on the Letterkenny to Churchill road.
A school bus, a van and a car were involved in the crash, which was reported to the Gardai at 8.25 this morning (Thursday). The driver of the car was badly injured and he was subsequently removed to Letterkenny General Hospital. The other people involved in the collision escaped any major injuries. No children on the school bus at the time of the accident.
Gardai were unable to speculate as to the cause of the crash. Forensic investigators were dispatched to the scene of the accident and the road was expected to be closed for a prolonged period while the scene was examined.
At the time of going to press, Letterkenny General Hospital was unable to comment on the driver’s condition as he was still receiving treatment in the Accident and Emergency unit. The driver’s condition was described as serious by a Garda spokesperson.
The crash resulted in delays for traffic while Garda set up diversions.
