Spectacular Annalee

Posted online: Aug 15th, 2008

Letterkenny girl Annalee Harley is in the frame to win a top modelling contract after being selected from 118 hopefuls competing for the title of Irish Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2008.
Annalee will join 12 other specs wearing fashionistas from across Ireland at the Irish final on Thursday 28 August, staged at the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin 8.
Annalee told the Letterkenny Post: “I am shocked to have been chosen to go through to the national final as I didn’t think I stood a chance. It is a dream come true. I can’t believe I am going to be standing in front of the legendary Gok Wan with the chance of winning a modelling representation along with such a fantastic holiday.”
If Annalee is successful she could find herself strutting down the catwalk at the glitzy, celebrity studded International Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards in London on Tuesday 21 October 2008. At the event contestants will be judged by a panel of industry experts and Specsavers style ambassador and Channel 4 presenter, Gok Wan.
What’s more, by entering this year’s Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition, Annalee has helped to raise money for charity. Specsavers is donating €1 for every eligible entry it has received in this year’s competition to anti-bullying charity Kidscape, which will help them continue with their valuable work with children and young people.
