The Grill Music Venue has been put up for sale as a going concern on the open market but, despite rumours circulating the town, it has not been sold as yet.
Despite spending a relatively short time on the market, speculation has been rife that the Grill complex had been sold. The receiver, Seamus Farren of Farren Roarty, confirmed to the Letterkenny Post that the property is still up for sale.
The agent is Sherry Fitzgerald Rainey and they refer to the property as a “long established and renowned entertainment complex” in their advertisements. It is situated on a valuable piece of real estate on the Port Road, Letterkenny.
There are still some outstanding issues to be resolved in connection with the property. There are a number of local creditors waiting to receive payment for work completed on the premises by their businesses.
The Grill was established by Bernard McGlinchey and has been in operation on its current site for more than 40 years. It built up a reputation as one of Donegal’s best known night spots. In more recent years, it brought a number of top DJs to Letterkenny before it underwent a massive renovation.
Following an extended closure, it re-launched itself as a live music venue and it attracted a number of big acts to the town including rock’n’roll legend, Chuck Berry.
