Donegal for All-Ireland Finals

May 9th, 2008

Donegal will have two teams in the All-Ireland Finals at under 14s and 15s level.
The Donegal teams enjoyed a 4-1 away win against Wexford for the U14s and a 4-0 home win for U15s against North Dublin 4- 0 in the semi-finals. It’s all systems go for the Donegal team managers and staff between now and Sunday, May 25.
Both Eunan Brolly and Pat Foy should have full squads to select from. This will be the second time for the 1993 team to reach the final as they won the U12 competition in 2006.
With Donegal underage soccer very much in the limelight at the moment, for all the right reasons, this a great boost for the lads. They have put a lot of hard work into their game over the last number of years, with no fewer than seven Donegal lads playing for the Irish Schoolboy International Teams in the last few months.
Their will be no let up in the summer as Willie Mackey’s 1994 team will take part in the Kennedy cup Limerick and the Foyle cup Derry. The 1993s will take part in one of the biggest youth tournaments in Europe, the Milk Cup, for the first time in 19 years.
They will also go to the Galway Cup, where they have been invited into the elite group section. The 1992s will also take part in the Foyle Cup in Derry and the Umbro Cup in Dublin.
All in all it’s going to be a challenge for all concerned as will be the costs involved in taking part. If any one would like to help with sponsorship in anyway they can contact any of they Donegal schoolboys committee or team managers below. The 1994 team manager is Willie Mackey (0879588323), the 1993 manager is Eunan Brolly (0872389586) and the 1992 is Paddy Foy (0872974261).
